Strengthening Economic Diplomacy between Algeria and Bulgaria

At the invitation of the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, H.E. the Ambassador Asma Babouche paid today, 24th September 2026, a working visit to the city of Haskovo, in southeastern Bulgaria, where she held a meeting with the President of the Chamber, in the presence of the Governor of Kardzhali Province, as well as a number of local business representatives.

The meeting focused on ways to develop and expand economic and trade relations between Algeria and Bulgaria, strengthen direct contacts between economic operators in both countries, and explore new opportunities for partnership and investment.

The discussions also addressed opportunities for cooperation in a number of sectors, including food industries, agriculture, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, information and communication technologies, energy, tourism, industry and logistics.

On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador presented an overview of Algeria’s legal and regulatory framework, investment opportunities, and the incentives and tax facilities offered by the Algerian business environment. She underlined the importance of strengthening direct contacts between economic actors and encouraging initiatives aimed at opening new avenues for cooperation, partnership and investment, thereby contributing to further consolidating and developing economic relations between Algeria and Bulgaria.
