International Mathematics Competition (IMC 2026)

H.E. Ambassador Asma Babouche received today, 3 August 2026, at the Embassy of Algeria in Sofia, students from the National Higher School of Mathematics, following their participation in the International Mathematics Competition (IMC 2026), held in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, from 27 July to 3 August 2026.

The Algerian students achieved a remarkable scientific accomplishment by securing first and third places in this prestigious international competition, which brought together participants from 130 universities across 48 countries. This outstanding achievement once again highlights the excellence of Algerian talent and its distinguished presence in international scientific competitions.

The students also received special and personnel congratulations from the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in recognition of this remarkable success and the honor it brings to Algeria.

During the meeting, appreciation was expressed for the outstanding performance of the Algerian students, as well as for the efforts of the National Higher School of Mathematics, professors, and supervisors, which contributed to this distinguished scientific achievement.

Later in the evening, representatives of the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence (ENSIA), were also received at the Embassy following their participation in the same International Mathematics Competition (IMC 2026). They were wished continued success in their academic journey.

The Embassy of Algeria in Sofia wishes the students and the professors a safe return to Algeria, carrying with them this remarkable achievement, which adds to Algeria’s scientific successes.
