The National Day of the Martyr
The Embassy of Algeria in Sofia commemorated, on the 18th of February 2025, the National Day of the Martyr to pay tribute to our heroes who sacrificed their lives fighting French colonialism for freedom and dignity.
The ceremony included the raising of the national flag to the sound of the national anthem, the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs. A speech pronounced by the Chargé d’Affairs a.i. highlighted the importance and meaning of this Day commemorating those who deserve to be venerated by the Algerian nation: our righteous martyrs.
